A Third Term, and Five Years Running It Themselves

Chairman Marshall Pierite began a third term in April, and the Tribe is five years into its decision to bring Paragon Casino Resort fully in-house under the Tunica-Biloxi Gaming Authority. That is a rarer position than it sounds. It means the operating system is yours to set rather than a manager's to hand you, and the window to set the next version of it is open right now.

What Just Happened

Leadership continuity on a property the Tribe runs itself.

Most tribal enterprises of this scale carry an outside manager. Tunica-Biloxi took its own operations back and has held them for five years, which puts every operating decision inside the Tribe rather than inside a management agreement.

  • April 5, 2026. Chairman Marshall Pierite was re-elected to a third term, alongside a Tribal Council that added new at-large members and a new Secretary-Treasurer.
  • June 10, 2021. The Tunica-Biloxi Gaming Authority assumed full management of Paragon Casino Resort, concluding a five-year engagement with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment that had cut debt by more than two-thirds and restored 401k matching and annual raises.
  • Since then. Paragon has operated under tribal management, which is where the leverage sits: the standard, the cadence and the bench are all the Tribe's to set.
